AJC 2023: Pressured from the start, Ruzana finally returns the Malaysian representative

– The ticket to the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asia Junior Championships (AJC) was not easily won by Ruzana’s women’s singles. Runner up The Bangladesh Junior International Series 2023 has faced pressure from its opponent from Malaysia, Ong Xin Yee since the start of the match at GOR Amongraga, Yogyakarta, Friday (14/7/2023).

Ruzana’s calm and focus resulted in a sweet result, namely a victory with a score of 22-20, 22-20 in 35 minutes.

“In this fight I tried to appear calm when the opponent pressed me. I try to adjust the opponent’s game to get out of pressure,” said Ruzana after the match.

With this result, Ruzana will qualify for the quarter-finals and will challenge South Korea’s representative, Kim Min Ji, who previously overcame the resistance of Sri Lankan representative Ranithma Liyanage with a score of 21-8, 21-14.

Facing the top eight, Ruzana doesn’t want to put too much pressure on her and wants to enjoy every game.

“I want to play more enjoy and play more calmly. I want to maximize my game in the quarterfinals later,” concluded Ruzana.

Apart from practical Ruzana, in the women’s singles sector, Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari is the only remaining host. The champion of the 2022 Indonesia International Series will face South Korea’s representative, Kim Min Sun, in the round of 16.
