Avoid Taxes, Carlo Ancelotti Allegedly Hide Income

– Carlo Ancelotti is suspected of hiding his income to avoid taxes in Spain so he has to undergo trial.

The Italian is currently preparing for the third season of his second spell as head coach of Real Madrid, which is also likely to be his last. The coach who has handled AC Milan and Chelsea is said to have agreed to handle the Brazilian national team next summer.

For now, Ancelotti’s full focus will be on next season with Real Madrid. But part of his attention must be divided on an incident that occurred during his first term in service Los Blancos.

As reported El MundoAncelotti has been accused of defrauding the Spanish Ministry of Finance of €386,361 or equivalent to Rp. 6.4 billion in 2014. The funds were related to his image rights at that time.

The judge in his case has concluded that Ancelotti did hide the money, so the case will proceed to trial, although it is not yet known when the Italian will appear in court.

There is good news for Ancelotti, as he has been acquitted of similar charges since 2015. However, the Real Madrid head coach must tackle the matter now.

Ancelotti is confirmed to be in charge of the Brazilian national team starting next year after his “tenure” at Real Madrid ends. This was revealed by the Chairman of the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues.

According to Rodrigues, Carlo Ancelotti will manage the Samba team from next year’s Copa America. Before Ancelotti arrived, Brazil would be handled by Fernando Diniz until July next year.

At the press conference, Rodrigues was bombarded with questions about Ancelotti. Until finally he confirmed that the Italian coach would handle Brazil starting from the 2024 Copa America.

“He (Ancelotti) will do it, he will do it. You can be sure of that,” said Rodrigues after being asked if he had an agreement with Ancelotti to coach Brazil in the 2024 edition of the Copa America.

The 64-year-old Italian coach has a contract with Madrid that will expire when Diniz’s 12-month contract with Brazil ends.

“It’s up to Diniz, he takes it one step at a time,” said Rodrigues.

Prior to appointing Diniz, Brazil had not had a full-time coach since the World Cup, when Tite resigned after their quarter-final defeat by Croatia. Under-20 team coach, Ramon Menezes, who took over as coach of the Under-20 national team in recent friendlies.

Ancelotti, whose contract expires next summer, will become the first foreign coach to take charge of Brazil since 1965. There has been no official statement from Ancelotti nor Real Madrid that he will leave the club next year.

The 64-year-old begins his second spell at the Bernabeu in 2021, after leaving Everton, and has won the Champions League, La Liga, Copa del Rey and Club World Cup among a string of successes since his return.
