Candidate for DK OJK Crypto Sector Hasan Fawzi Reveals Industry Potential to Strategy

Previously, it was revealed, two names of prospective members of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (DK OJK) for the 2023–2028 period will fill the position as head of crypto supervisors.

This is in accordance with the DPR’s Commission XI which has received the names of potential members of the OJK DK through a presidential letter (surpres) numbered R-31/Pres/06/2023 which was signed by President Jokowi on 16 June 2023.

Based on the copy of the letter, there are two candidates for the position of Chief Executive Supervising Technological Innovation in the Financial Sector, Digital Financial Assets and Crypto Assets who are concurrently Members of the OJK DK.

The first candidate is the former Development Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Hasan Fawzi. As for the second candidate, Executive Director Head of the Communications Department of Bank Indonesia Erwin Haryono.

Profile of Hasan Fawzi

Reporting from the OJK website, Friday (7/7/2023), Hasan Fawzi currently serves as Director of Development at the Indonesia Stock Exchange. He was appointed as IDX Development Director through the GMS on 29 June 2018.

Hasan was born in Purwakarta on April 27, 1970. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 1993 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from LIAE de Grenoble University, Universite Pierre Mendes, France, as well as a Masters in Management degree. (MM) from the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia in 2008.

Hasan started his career at PT Kliring Depository Securities Indonesia as Head of System Development Department (1993-1997), then moved to KPEI as Head of Information Technology Division (1997-2008). He has served as Director of PHEI (2008-2012) and President Director of KPEI for two periods (2012-2015 and 2015-2018).

Profile of Erwin Haryono

According to Bank Indonesia’s official website, Erwin Haryono was born in Bogor in 1966. After studying Economics & Development Studies at Diponegoro University in 1990, Erwin continued his education at the International University of Japan and earned a Master’s degree in Economics International Development in 1998.

Erwin started his career at Bank Indonesia in 1994, Erwin has been serving as the Head of the Communications Department since 2020. Erwin was also the IMF representing Indonesia.
