Chelsea vs Liverpool League Cup Final must continue in extra rounds

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The match between Chelsea and Liverpool in the final of the English League Cup or EFL Cup (Carabao Cup) at Wembley Stadium, Sunday (25/2/2024), must continue with extra time. The reason is, both teams played 0-0 after 90 minutes of the match.

Liverpool is aiming to win the English League Cup for the 10th time. Meanwhile, Chelsea will try to win this title for the sixth time.

Appearing as guests, Liverpool appeared superior in possession of the ball. The RedsLiverpool's nickname, recorded 54% possession of the ball, while Chelsea had 46% possession.

Chelsea only made two direct kicks on goal. Liverpool has a slight lead in this matter, namely three times.

Not long after, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister got his chance. The midfielder from Argentina fired a shot, but it was blocked by goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.

Entering the half after the break, both teams continued to try to score the winning goal. Welcoming Andy Robertson's cross, the Dutch defender headed the ball after a duel with Ben Chillwel.

The former Southampton player's header then managed to outwit Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic. However, Van Dijk's success in breaking through Chelsea's goal ended in disappointment.

Referee Chris Kavanagh again asked for VAR's help to confirm this goal. He then annulled this goal because it happened off side previously. The score is still 0-0.
