China Wins 3 Titles at Badminton AJC 2023

China won three titles at the 2023 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC). The last title went to the men’s doubles title Ma Shang/Zhu Yi Jun.

In the final match of the Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC) 2023 which took place at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, on Sunday (16/7/2023) afternoon, Ma/Zhu came out as champions after defeating their compatriots, Chen Yong Rui/Hu Ke Yuan, in a rubber game battle with a score of 19-21, 21-16, 21-13.

Zhu Yi Jun is actually feeling tired because he previously also played in the 2023 Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC) mixed doubles final with Huang Ke Xin. However, fortunately, his partner in the men’s doubles, Ma Shang, played well and was able to make up for the shortcomings on the court.

“I feel very tired because today I played twice in one day. I tried to prepare well considering I played in two numbers,” said Zhu.

Ma Shang added, “When my partner looks tired, I try to cover and play more calmly in order to achieve victory.”

Despite winning, Ma Shang/Zhu Yi Jun doesn’t know if they will become a permanent couple in the future. However, they remain committed to playing together if given the chance in the next tournament.

In the men’s doubles sector, Indonesia won a bronze medal through Zidane Attauba Efendi / Kleopas Binar Putra Prakoso. Both of them reached the semifinals together with representatives from Chinese Taipei, Lai Po Yu/Tsai Fu Cheng.

This bronze medal was actually unexpected for Zidane and Kleopas, because their initial target was only to reach the top eight. However, after achieving good results at the 2023 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships, they are committed to getting up and achieving maximum results in the future.
