Coach confirms that Indonesia is ready to compete in the U-17 Women's Asian Cup

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The coach of the Indonesian U-17 women's national team, Satoru Mochizuki, emphasized that his team's preparations were adequate to face the 2024 U-17 Women's Asian Cup competition which will be held from 6-19 May 2024.

As hosts, Indonesia will start their journey by facing the Philippines, the debutant team in this competition, at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, on Monday (6/5/2024) at 19.00 WITA.

“Currently, the team's preparations are running smoothly and are quite stable. The players are ready to compete in the first match,” said Mochizuki via the official PSSI website on Monday (6/5/2024).

Mochizuki, or Mochi, stated that even though the Philippines are a debut team, they are still worth watching out for. However, he stressed that in football, the outcome is always uncertain and depends on the best performance during the match.

“Our first opponent is the Philippines, which we know is a tough team. However, in football, there is no guarantee of victory. I will try to give my best for this team, with the hope that the results will be positive,” he said.

Indonesia hopes to qualify from Group A and advance to the semifinals after being absent from this competition since 2005.

“Our target is to get through the group stage as much as possible. Even though the challenges are big, I will try my best and hope to create history. “I will fight hard for the Indonesian team,” he added.

In group A, Indonesia will fight against strong teams such as North Korea, which was ranked second in the previous tournament, South Korea, and the debutant team, the Philippines.
