Collaborating with Japanese Coach Satoru Mochizuki, PSSI Targets Indonesian Women's National Team to Reach the 2035 World Cup

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – PSSI officially introduces a new face to coach the Indonesian Women's National Team. The Indonesian football federation collaborated with Japanese tactician Satoru Mochizuki, who has made various achievements for the Sakura Country team.

Mochizuki's appointment as the new head coach of the Indonesian Women's National Team was officially announced in the Central Jakarta area, Tuesday (20/2/2024) morning WIB. PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir was present accompanied by Vice President II Ratu Tisha Destria, Secretary General Yunus Nusi, and a number of members of the executive committee (Exco).

Erick Thohir revealed that the appointment of Satoru Mochizuki was proof of his party's seriousness in developing Indonesian football. The PSSI chairman hopes that with the presence of a tactician from Japan, Indonesia can realize its long-term mission of qualifying for the 2035 Women's World Cup.

“This year, we have planned accordingly planning We are big, where in 2035 we want to try our women's team to qualify for the World Cup. It's already in blueprints when we presented to FIFA about Indonesia Gold 2045,” said Erick Thohir in announcing the collaboration with Satoru Mochizuki in Jakarta, Tuesday (20/2/2024).

“So this is not a dream. This already exists blueprintsthat must be implemented. “Thank God, through collaboration with the Japan Football Association (JFA), we got the best figure (to train the Indonesian Women's National Team).”

“We are honored by Coach Satoru Mochizuki, who has track record holding the Japanese national team in the Olympics, even (Women's World Cup) in Germany (wanting to coach the national team). “This is a very positive thing when the international world is starting to believe in Indonesia,” continued the General Chairman of PSSI.
