Deco Gives Bad News for Manchester United at the End of February 2024
Liputan6.com, Jakarta- Barcelona sporting director Deco de Souza gave Manchester United bad news at the end of February 2024. Deco confirmed that the Blaugrana would be desperate to retain the two players the Red Devils are targeting in the summer of 2024.
MU plans to overhaul the team in the 2024 summer transfer market even though they must first sell their assets. Two names on MU's radar are Barcelona star, central defender Ronald Araujo and midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
MU has long been targeting the last name, especially manager Erik ten Hag. In the last two years the Red Devils have always tried to hijack De Jong but have continued to fail.
Now the opportunity to get De Jong is wide open. The Dutch player is reportedly open to the opportunity to leave the Nou Camp at the end of the season. De Jong wants to look for a new adventure amidst Barca's difficult financial situation.
However, the news of De Jong and Araujo's move was immediately denied by Deco. In an interview with MovistarDeco asked interested clubs including MU to forget about Araujo and De Jong because they will still be retained.
“What will happen to Araujo and De Jong? Nothing will happen,” said Deco in an interview with Movistar.
