Defeating Dewa United, Persija Ends Series of Bad Results

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Persija Jakarta ended a series of bad results after beating Dewa United 4-1 in the match week 27 of the Indonesian League 1 at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Saturday (2/3/2024).

Based on Indonesian League records, previously Persija Jakarta had to receive three consecutive defeats from Borneo FC, Madura United and Arema FC.

In this match, Persija Jakarta won thanks to the contribution of two goals from Marko Simic and Ryo Matsumura respectively, while Dewa United responded through Risto Mitrevski's penalty kick.

This victory also brought Persija Jakarta up to seventh place by collecting 35 points from 27 matches, while Dewa United dropped to eighth place with the same number of points.

In the first half, Dewa United got the first chance through Alex Martins' kick, but it was saved by Persija goalkeeper, Andritany Ardhiyasa.

Persija managed to score the first goal in the 15th minute after a corner kick executed by Ryo Matsumura was headed by Marko Simic, bringing the score to 1-0.

Returning to Dewa's goal, Persija increased their lead to 2-0 in the 29th minute after Reyhan Hannan's cross was successfully utilized by Simic.

Dewa United managed to reduce the deficit to 1-2 in the 37th minute through Risto Mitrevski's penalty kick.

Entering the second half, Persija added two goals in five minutes through Ryo Matsumura in the 51st and 56th minutes.

Even though Dewa tried to reduce his deficit, Andritany's brilliant performance prevented this.

Persija got a golden opportunity through Rizky Ridho's free kick, but it was blocked by Dewa goalkeeper, Sonny Stevens.

Until the end of the match, the score remained 4-1 for Persija's victory.
