“It was really spectacular for us, even though we realized that we didn’t have the best car. However, we managed to record an extraordinary lap. We have a lot of work to do,” said Hamilton as quoted from AFPMonday (24/7/2023).

Hamilton admits that the Mercedes team is still far behind Red Bull in the race and is currently even behind McLaren. However, he remains optimistic and committed to continuing to try and improve the team’s performance.

However, he also mentions that his car is getting easier to drive as time goes by. Hamilton tried to see the positive side of yesterday’s race, especially in reaching pole position in qualifying.

Meanwhile, Hamilton’s teammate, George Russell, managed to finish the race in an impressive sixth position.

“The car is very fast. The Hungaroring is one of my favorite circuits and as a team we usually do well here, so it’s no surprise how fast we were today,” said Russell.
