First Half, Man City vs Chelsea: Alvarez’s goal brings the hosts a 1-0 lead

– Manchester City for a while in the first half won 1-0 over Chelsea in the Premier League continuation at the Etihad, Sunday (21/5/2023) night.

Man City’s advantage was opened through Julian Alvarez’s goal in the 12th minute.

Man City appeared dominant throughout the first 45 minutes with 63% possession. The hosts put pressure on Chelsea in the first 10 minutes although they still couldn’t create chances.

However, in the 12th minute Man City opened the scoring after Cole Palmer’s assist was greeted by Julian Alvarez with a right-footed shot from the center of the 16th box. The ball flowed swiftly into the Chelsea goal. Score 1-0 to Man City.

After that, Man City continued to try to threaten even though several attempts were still able to be suppressed by the Chelsea defense.

The Blues responded with Raheem Sterling’s attempted shot with his left foot from the center of the 16th box which goalkeeper Kepa was still able to save.

Chelsea almost leveled the score when Conor Gallagher’s header hit the post. The 1-0 score for Man City’s advantage lasted until halftime.
