Gojek Shares 3 Safe Tips for Using Online Transportation, Users Need to Know

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Going home at night using public transportation is often troubling, because various crimes, including sexual violence, often occur at night. Sexual violence can be experienced by anyone, anytime and anywhere, including while traveling.

In fact, ensuring public spaces including safe public transportation is a shared responsibility between the government, business actors, and the community.

The survey from the Safe Public Spaces Coalition (KRPA) in 2022 found that 3,539 women out of a total of 4,236 respondents said they had experienced sexual harassment in public spaces.

Seeing this, online transportation service provider Gojek emphasizes that the safety and security of users while traveling is a priority, especially for women. Gojek itself has the #AmanBersamaGojek initiative which was launched in 2020.

“The goal is to provide users with a sense of security through various innovative features and programs to prevent sexual violence,” said Head of Region & External Affair Gojek, Gede Manggala.

Through this initiative, Gojek seeks to keep its online transportation services safe through three pillars namely technology, protection and education.
