Instagram and Facebook Down in Various Countries, Including Indonesia

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Instagram and Facebook collapsed in a number of countries in the world, including Indonesia on Tuesday, (5/3/2024), at 22:19 WIB.

Complaints about Instagram being down came from one of Liputan6.com's colleagues, who was curious that Meta's application suddenly couldn't be accessed.

“Is Instagram a distraction?” Eldest wrote to the team Techno Liputan6.com. “I was opening Instagram, I wanted to search for something. But why didn't it load when I clicked on the word in the search bar,” he said.

When cross-checked, Meta's service cannot be accessed with only a message displaying “Something went wrong” on the main page accompanied by a “Reload page” button.

Based on the downdetector site, there were around 2,814 reports of Instagram glitches with 50 percent of users complaining about not being able to open the application on iOS and Android devices.

The remaining 40 percent complained that they could not connect to the server and 10 percent said they could not log into the Instagram application.

Apart from Instagram, Meta's social media service, namely Facebook, was also observed experiencing disruption at the same time.

“Wow, suddenly my Facebook account logged out by itself. When I tried to log in again I couldn't,” said Dio to the Liputan6.com team regarding Facebook being down.

There were around 5,725 complaints saying Facebook was down, with 53 percent of users unable to log in to the social media platform.

Meanwhile, 29 percent had problems with server connections and another 18 percent experienced problems with applications on Android and iOS.

It didn't take long, #instagramdown has now immediately become a trending topic on platform X.

Various uploads and memes about Instagram being down have also enlivened Elon Musk's social media timeline.
