Japan Open 2023: Arriving in Japan, Indonesian Badminton Team Greeted by Deputy Ambassador at Narita Airport

Jakarta, Todaysgist.com – The Indonesian badminton team arrived at Narita Airport, Japan, Sunday (23/7/2023) ahead of competing in the 2023 Japan Open. The arrival of Chico Aura and friends were greeted directly by the Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan, John Tjahjanto Boestami.

“Sport is an important part of diplomacy. Athletes are ambassadors for the nation. I believe my friends are capable of winning, but more than that uphold sportsmanship and appearance for the good name of Indonesia,” said Deputy Ambassador John who was accompanied by the Coordinator of the Social and Cultural Affairs Function Meinarti Fauzie, Young Diplomats Mukti Romadona Setianto and Jurman Saputra Nazar in a press release received Todaysgist.comSunday (23/7/2023).

The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo emphasized that Boestami was ready to support the hard work of Indonesian badminton players in the 2023 Japan Open tournament.

“Have a good match. Obey the rules, take care of your health and keep on fighting for the Red and White. Let’s support the Indonesian team so they can compete successfully,” continued John.

Meanwhile, men’s doubles player Hendra Setiawan ensured that the Indonesian team’s preparations were optimal and ready to perform.

“Our preparations are optimal. We just have to keep the condition. Tomorrow we start training. The target for the Indonesian team is that there will be champions here,” said Hendra Setiawan.

Japan Open 2023 will be held on 25 – 30 July 2023 at Yoyogi Stadium. The Indonesian Badminton Team consists of 33 people which include athletes, coaches and officials.

Composition squad Indonesia at the 2023 Japan Open consists of 3 men’s singles, 1 women’s singles, 5 men’s doubles, 2 women’s doubles and 4 mixed doubles.

Indonesian Squad

Men’s singles: Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Jonathan Christie, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.

Women’s singles: Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.

Men’s doubles: Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan.

Women’s doubles: Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amalia Chaya Pratiwi.

Mixed doubles: Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.
