Adriano Moraes Aims to Win Gold Belt in the US

– Former ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano Moraes is looking to reclaim his belt in front of die-hard MMA fans at One Fight Night 10 on 6 May. The One Fight Night 10 event marked the inaugural ONE Championship event in Uncle Sam’s country.

In the final match, a trilogy match between Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes will be presented to win the ONE Flyweight World Title.

The two have met twice with each other’s record. In the last meeting in August last year, Johnson came out victorious via a flying knee strike which also dethroned Moraes from the throne of the One Championship champion he had been in for a long time.

“Mikinho” – Moraes’ nickname is determined to take revenge in Colorado, which is the home of his biggest rival and opponent. But America for Moraes is also his second home after Brazil because he has spent years honing his skills in Uncle Sam’s country.

“After moving to the United States, this has become my second home. I’ve fought jiu-jitsu here a few times, but I’ve never had MMA. It would be great to compete in MMA in my second home here. Especially to be a champion here,” said Moraes.

Moraes made his debut with One in 2017 before taking the flyweight division by storm. Previously, he became the champion in his homeland. Most of his career was spent in Brazil and Asia. But to compete in the US, it’s the first time for him.

“I was champion in Brazil and Asia, but now I have the opportunity to become champion in the US,” said Moraes.

Furthermore, defeating the so-called GOAT Flyweight in the US can mean extraordinary things. There are strong reasons why Moraes must win the upcoming match on Saturday morning this week (6/5).

“I am the first ONE champion in the flyweight division, and I feel proud because I was able to become a pillar and also top the inaugural ONE Championship event in the US. It will be very important to beat him (Demetrious Johnson) in the US,” he concluded.
Besides the ONE Flyweight world championship bout, the grand event will also be enlivened by two other world championship bouts in Muay Thai and submission grappling.

A number of well-known One stars such as Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Mikey Musumeci, Sage Northcutt, Stamp Fairtex to Tye Ruotolo will also grace the US star-studded match.
