League 1: Persija Swallows First Defeat at Persita Cage

Tangerang, Beritasatu.com – Persija Jakarta suffered its first defeat in League 1 2023/2024 when they visited Persita Tangerang at the Indomilk Arena Stadium, Tangerang, Saturday (22/7/2023). The only goal scored by Esal Sahrul ensured Persita’s narrow 1-0 victory over Persija.

With this result, Persita Tangerang is now in second place in the standings with nine points from four matches. Meanwhile, Persija Jakarta is stuck in eighth place with five points.

Persija started the match in the first half by immediately pressing the host’s defense. The Kemayoran Tigers’ first threat came through Aji Kusuma’s header which had not yet met the target.

Persita replied through Ramiro Fergonz’s kick which was also far from Persija’s goal. Until the first half ended the score remained 0-0.

In the second half, Irsyad Maulana’s shot almost broke into Persija’s goal. Unfortunately, the ball was still secured by goalkeeper Andritany Ardhyasa. Persija returned to reply with the threat of Ryo Matsumura’s kick which still narrowly missed Persita’s goal.

The hosts cheered after Esal Sahrul took advantage of Ezequiel Vidak’s pass to score in the 81st minute. Sahrul almost scored the second goal in thenjury time.

The 2-1 score for Persita’s advantage lasted until the fight ended.

After this, Persita Tangerang will visit Persikabo 1973 headquarters in Week 5 of the Indonesian League 1 on Friday (28/7), while Persija Jakarta will host Persebaya Surabaya on Sunday (30/7/2023).
