Lionel Messi opens up about plans to retire from football, at what age?

Messi himself does not set an age limit for his career in football. However, the superstar from Argentina admitted that he would immediately stop if he felt he could no longer make a maximum contribution to the team.

“I know that when I feel like I can no longer perform, no longer enjoy (playing on the field), or (can't) help my teammates, I will stop,” he told Big Timereported from SportBible.

“I'm very critical of myself. I know when I'm good, when I'm bad, when I'm playing well and when I'm not playing well.”

“When I feel it's time to take that step (hang up my boots), then I will take it without thinking about the age factor. On the other hand, if I feel good, I will always try to continue competing because that's what I like,” he said.
