West Ham vs Liverpool: The Reds Try to Rise

London, Beritasatu.com – Liverpool will try to revive their hopes of winning the Premier League title when they travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham United on Saturday (27/4/2024).

West Ham are also looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last two games against Fulham and Crystal Palace.

With four games remaining, Liverpool currently sit third in the Premier League standings, three points behind leaders Arsenal, while reigning champions Manchester City moved up to second after their 4-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday, and they still have one game pending.

Amid reports that Feyenoord boss Arne Slot will replace Klopp as Liverpool manager this summer, the Reds will welcome a meeting with West Ham on Saturday as they have already beaten West Ham twice this season in all competitions with an aggregate score of 8-2, after winning 3-1 in the league in September with a convincing 5-1 win in the EFL Cup three months later.

Like Liverpool, West Ham are also in poor form having won only one of their last seven Premier League games.

Since beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at Molineux, West Ham have suffered two consecutive defeats to Fulham and Crystal Palace, the last of which beat them 5-2 at Selhurst Park last week.

David Moyes was embarrassed and disappointed after West Ham's defeat, which leaves them eighth in the table and two points behind seventh-placed Newcastle United, who have a game postponed, while they are five points behind sixth-placed Manchester United after United won 4-2 over Sheffield United.

West Ham enter Saturday's game having won just one of their last eight games at home, with a 4-2 win over Brentford back in February. After losing 0-2 to Fulham in their last match at the London Stadium, they will be looking to avoid back-to-back home defeats for the first time since three successive defeats in November/December 2022.

However, success against Liverpool could be a big challenge as West Ham have lost 12 of their last 14 Premier League meetings with the Reds, losing their last five meetings since a 3-2 win at home in November 2021.
