Lippi is optimistic that Pirlo will bring Sampdoria back to shine

– Former Juventus coach, Marcello Lippi, supports Andrea Pirlo who is entrusted with managing Sampdoria.

Pirlo was appointed as the new coach of Sampdoria which will compete in the 2023/2024 Serie B season.

“I like everything about Sampdoria. I like this coach, Andrea Pirlo, a fantastic guy who will be able to pass on his ideas to the team and the players,” said Lippi.

Lippi said, it is not easy for every coach to carry out his new role in a new team. But with the quality that Pirlo has, Lippi believes Sampdoria will be able to shine.

“It is clear that there will be some effort, some suffering, but Pirlo is a person of great quality, intelligence and sensitivity. He will definitely do well. I am sure that Andrea will be able to put together a good team to bounce back soon.” he continued.

According to Lippi, a realistic target for Pirlo is to be able to bring Sampdoria to win Serie B so they can return to competing at the top level of Italian competition, Serie A.

“Scudetto in Serie A? I say the usual. However, let’s think about the Scudetto Serie B…”
