Coach Erik Ten Hag removes Harry Maguire’s captain’s armband

– Harry Maguire will lose his position as captain of Manchester United (MU).

The Sun says Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has made Maguire available for sale this summer. West Ham and Tottenham are both interested, as are a number of Serie A clubs.

The Dutch coach will release the Maguire captain’s armband and give it officially to Bruno Fernandes.

The decision has been made and the replacement will occur this week.

Harry Maguire is an English player born in 1993. Before being signed to become a defender for Manchester United, he had played for Sheffield United and Leicester City.

Maguire was appointed as United captain in 2020 after Ashley Young left for Inter Milan. His first goal for MU came in a match against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup which ended in a victory for the Red Devils.

Maguire played a major role in MU’s success in the 2019-2020 Premier League season. At that time, MU managed to occupy third place, the second-highest finish since coach Alex Ferguson retired.
