Beat China, Indonesia Wins Badminton Asia Junior Championships Group

Indonesia won the group winner after defeating China with a score of 4-1 in the 2023 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC) at Amongrogo Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Sunday (9/7/2023).

The men’s doubles Muhammad Al Farizi/Nikolaus Joaquin became the winning heroes by winning the rubber game 21-15, 13-21, 21-15 over Ma Shang/Zhu Yi Jun in the fifth match of the Badminton Asia Junior Championships.

In the final match of the Badminton Asia Junior Championships group, despite facing difficulties in changing the pattern of the opponent’s game, Farizi/Nikolaus managed to stay focused and make a contribution to Indonesia.

This victory made Indonesia win the group and advance to the quarterfinals. Furthermore, Indonesia will face India as the runner up in Group C.

The Indonesian team, which has been preparing for three months, is ready to face the challenge of the quarterfinals. The team manager, Eddy Prayitno, stated that they would take advantage of their success as Group A winners to continue their positive trend until they reached the final.

The entire Indonesian badminton team is in combat-ready condition to go further in the 2023 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC).

“There are no obstacles in the team and we hope to maintain this positive trend until the semifinals and finals,” said Eddy.

In addition to the match between Indonesia and India, the draw for the quarter-finals also brought Malaysia as Group C winners against Thailand as Group D runners-up.
