The Mayor of Parepare Regrets the Chaos Between PSM Supporters

– Mayor of Parepare, South Sulawesi, Taufan Pawe continues to support PSM Makassar despite losing 1-2 at home to Dewa United, Saturday (8/7/2023). However, he regretted the occurrence of chaos between PSM supporters.

For the Mayor of Parepare for these two periods, PSM Makassar’s defeat of Dewa United 1-2 at the BJ Habibie Stadium (GBH), should be used as a whip in evaluating the game.

“This defeat is a whip for PSM in evaluating from all fronts,” said Taufan Pawe after watching the match.

He considered, PSM Makassar’s game was different in that match. The attacks of Wil jan Pluim and friends were easily countered.

“I saw that PSM’s game was different from PSM’s previous appearances. But this is the start, hopefully PSM will rise to the next match and win,” he explained.

Taufan Pawe also regretted the chaos between the fans in the match. He asked all parties to maintain security and order for the smooth running of the game and the sanctions that PSM Makassar could get.

“This incident is a warning to us, PSM, security, and all parties to be more vigilant in the future,” he said while visiting one of the victims at Andi Makkasau Hospital.

He also asked for hospital services to be optimized for the victims. “I have asked for the optimization of hospital services for victims. Hopefully it won’t be too bad,” he concluded.

Previously, the highest football competition in Indonesia, League 1 season 2022/2023, which brought together the host PSM Makassar to host Dewa United at Gelora BJ Habibie Stadium, Parepare City, South Sulawesi, Saturday (8/7/2023), was marred by chaos. at half-time into the second half.

The commotion occurred between fellow PSM Fans supporters who were identified by all-black clothes. They seemed to chase each other and beat until they threw each other. Luckily, the commotion did not last long and spread to other parts of the stands and inside the stadium because security officers anticipated it quickly.

Some of the fans involved in the commotion immediately left the stadium and the match resumed.

In the chaos, the security forces arrested 4 people suspected of instigating the riots who are currently being investigated at the Parepare Police Headquarters and are facing criminal penalties.

As for the trigger for the riots, based on the results of a preliminary investigation by the police, this was due to a prolonged internal conflict.

The match between PSM Makassar vs Dewa United ended in a painful defeat for the hosts. PSM must be defeated with a score of 1-2. The hosts’ goal was scored in the 19th minute through Kenzo Nambu, while the visitors’ two goals were scored by Dimitrios Kolosov in the 48th minute and Alex at the end of the second half.
