Losing Against 1st Seed: Dejan/Gloria Feel Improved Performance

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian mixed doubles Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja did lose in the All England quarter-finals against first seeds Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong, but they felt an improvement in their performance.

In the match at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England, the 19th ranked mixed doubles gave up two straight games 11-21 and 19-21. Dejan/Gloria collapsed after playing for 40 minutes.

This result is the latest defeat suffered by Dejan/Gloria against Zheng/Huang. They have always lost in six meetings against the 2024 Indonesia Masters champions.

Meanwhile, Gloria admitted that they lacked experience compared to the Chinese doubles.
“It must be admitted that they have more experience, so they can master everything in terms of pattern, strategy and mentality. “On the pitch it's very visible, things that we haven't reached that level, but quality-wise we feel we can keep up,” said Gloria.

The 30-year-old athlete acknowledged the tough challenge of appearing in five consecutive tournaments. According to him, the most difficult thing is to keep your mind and mind mood-his.
