Badminton AJC 2023, Success Failed to Be Imitated by Zidane and Jaden

– Men’s singles Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo has stepped into the last 16 of the 2023 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC) tournament. Bagas got this certainty after defeating fourth seed from Singapore, Lau Jun Hui Marcus with a score of 21-17, 21-14.

However, Bagas’ success failed to be followed by two other Indonesian men’s singles, Zidane Cahyo Nugroho and Jaden Abdullah Usman Putra Ayus, who were left out after losing.

In the match that was held at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Thursday (13/7/2023) afternoon, Bagas admitted that he was motivated to win because his family from Pati, Central Java, came to support him directly.

The presence of his family who watched live at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, made the player who was born on September 2 2005 excited to be able to win.

“In today’s match, I am again supported by my family from Pati, Central Java. It feels good because here so the family gathers together. I am motivated to win today’s match,” said Bagas to PBSI.

With this result, Bagas will face the winner of the match between Ma Cheng-Yi (Chinese Taipei) and Nachakorn Pusri (Thailand).

Facing the round of 16, Bagas doesn’t want to be burdened and will play nothing to lose to be able to go far.

“I try to enjoy every game. I don’t want to be burdened with targets and I’m ready to show my best game in every match,” added Bagas.

It’s a shame that the other Indonesian men’s singles, Zidane Cahyo Nugroho and Jaden Abdullah Usman Putra Ayus cannot follow the slick results achieved by Bagas.

Zidane surrendered to Chinese representative Huang Jia Ming with a score of 16-21, 21-10, 20-22.

The player who was born on August 22, 2006 admitted that he lacked focus on critical points. When he was able to gain momentum in the second game, Zidane’s game even decreased so that the opponent had more control over the match and won the match.

With this result, Indonesia’s men’s singles leaves only a few names, including Alwi Farhan and Bodhi Ratana Teja Gotama.

In the round of 32, Alwi will face India’s representative, Samarveer. As for Bodhi, he will face Thailand’s men’s singles, Sarun Rukcharoen.
