Manchester United Immediately Announces Andre Onana’s Transfer, Contracted for 5 Seasons

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Manchester United have reportedly succeeded in recruiting new goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan. The official announcement is now just a matter of time.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on MU’s maneuvers in recruiting Onana as a replacement for David de Gea whose contract was not renewed.

“Andre Onana to Manchester United, finally here we go!,” Romano wrote on Twitter.

Romano explained, MU is now finalizing a transfer fee settlement agreement with Inter. Next, Onana will undergo medical tests and sign a contract.

The Italian journalist also stated that the Red Devils would arrange for Onana’s visa for a pre-season visit to the United States. MU is scheduled to face Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in Uncle Sam’s country.

“Man Utd will request a visa for Onana’s trip to the US. Ten Hag will have a new keeper at his disposal,” wrote Romano.

Regarding the contract, the former Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper will sign an agreement for five seasons, plus the option of a year’s extension.

Onana performed beautifully last season. He played 41 times in all competitions while keeping 19 clean sheets. His contribution helped Inter win the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.

Onana’s impressive performance also brought Inter Milan to the Champions League final for the first time since the last time in 2009/2010. It’s a shame they have to admit Manchester City’s superiority in the top match.

Andre Onana is no stranger to Erik ten Hag. The two have worked together at Ajax for 4.5 seasons and won six trophies, namely the Eredivisie (2018/2019, 2020/2021, 2021/2022), KNVB Cup (2018/2019, 2020/2021), and Johan Cruyff Shield (2019) .
