Mario Gomez Suggests Will Return to Handle Persib

Bandung, Beritasatu.com – Persib Bandung is still looking for a new coach after the sudden resignation of Luis Milla.

A number of candidates emerged, including Mario Gomez, who had previously handled Persib from November 2017 to December 2018.

After leaving Persib, Mario Gomez then coached Borneo FC and Arema FC. After that he left Indonesia to handle the Deportivo Armenio team (Argentina) and is now the coach of Gimnasia (Argentina).

Gomez even seemed to hint at his desire to return to handling Persib. Through uploads on social media Instagram, Mario Gomezpost memories when handling Persib.

“Memories of important moments in my life in Bandung, very important moments in football and club life! Memories of beautiful moments in my life in Bandung, fans are very important in football and club life!,” wrote Mario Gomez by including photos when he handled Persib.

As is well known, Persib currently does not have a coach due to the resignation of Luis Milla. This decision was made by the Spanish coach after Persib had yet to win in the opening three matches of the 2023/2024 League 1 season.

In the first game Persib drew 1-1 with Madura United. Then the score was 3-3 again won by Persib when they visited Arema FC headquarters. Most recently, Persib was held to a draw by their guest, Dewa United 2-2, Friday (14/7/2023).

Apart from Milla, two of his staff, Manuel Perez-Cascallana and Carlos Grande Rodriguez, also resigned.
