Mauricio Pochettino defends Raheem Sterling, who Chelsea fans mocked for failing to score a goal
However, Pochettino has explained his decision, and also asked his supporters not to 'criticize' his own players.
“We need to support him (Sterling), he is an extraordinary player. He has more than 10 years of experience in the Premier League. Of course I think his contribution was good. He was a little unlucky with some of his actions where he should have scored. But we are a team and we have to be there for everyone,” he told BBC Sport:
“Fans have the right to show their emotions. For us, we try to emphasize to our fans not to criticize. They want the best for our team and players. But we are in a project. We need support and really believe. We are trying to build something ,” he said.
