Members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces from Southeast Sulawesi Win World Kempo Prizes from the Danrem

– TNI member from Southeast Sulawesi (Southeast Sulawesi) Sertu Dirhamsyah, received a prize from Danrem 143 Halu Oleo, after becoming the kempo world champion in Portugal.

Not only that, Babinsa at the Lambuya Koramil, Kendari Kodim 1417, also received a bonus of IDR 25 million from the Dandim Kendari, Lt. Col. Czi Bintarto Joko Yulianto.

Before receiving the prize, Sertu Dirhamsyah was first greeted when he arrived at Haluoleo Kendari Airport, after his return from the Kempo World Championships in Portugal.

Sertu Dirhamsyah was then paraded to the Halu Oleo Korem 143 Headquarters by hundreds of TNI soldiers, and members of the Southeast Sulawesi Kempo Federation. Sertu Dirhamsyah was then greeted by high ranking Korem 143 Halu Oleo and For Kompinda Kendari.

Sertu Dirhamsyah himself won 2 gold and 2 silver medals from 4 different classes at Caldas de Rainha Portugal.

Sertu Dirhamsyah said that winning 2 gold medals was not easy. This father of 3 children had to undergo a rigorous training camp for 3 months in Pulo Gadung while fasting.

Even so, he continued to train hard and won the kempo world title and brought Indonesia to 4th place out of 62 participating countries.

In total, Indonesia collected 28 medals consisting of 5 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze medals.

“I will return to prepare myself for the next Kempo World Championships in Turkey in April 2024,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dandim 1417 Kendari / Lt. Col. Czi Bintarto Joko Yulianto said he was proud that his members could achieve achievements at the world level.

“One person can win 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals, it is very extraordinary and proud for the TNI,” said Bintarto.

Thus, what Sertu Dirhamsyah wrote was part of athlete development and strict selection and assessment of FKI central management.

FKI Southeast Sulawesi will again carry out strict selection and special training for athletes from the TNI and Polri to face next year’s kempo world championship in Turkey.

“We will specially train TNI and Polri members, because we have no doubt about their discipline. Hopefully we can send 4 people to take part in the world championships,” he stated.
