Persija vs PSM: Simic Still Absent, Doll Optimistic Can Win

– Persija Jakarta will face defending champion PSM Makassar in the inaugural match of League 1 at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, Monday (3/7/2023). Unfortunately, Coach Thomas Doll was unable to lose his best strength, including his foreign players in this match.

Of the three foreign players so far contracted by Macan Kemayoran, only Ryo Matsumara can be used.

The rest, namely Marko Simic and Ondrej Kudela, had to be absent for different reasons. Simic is still having trouble with the kit. While Kudela is still out due to injury.

“Simic is still constrained by a visa, of course it is difficult to play. Maybe next week he can be deployed. Only Ryo (Matsumura) a foreign player can play tomorrow,” Persija coach Thomas Doll said in a press conference before the game.

However, Doll believes the squad is still capable of winning. The coach from Germany believes that local Persija players are still capable of winning.

“Local players have been able to show their progress so far. Their current development is very good and we hope they can show their best performance tomorrow. Of course we have a chance to win against them, let alone play in front of Jakmania,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ryo Matsumura can’t wait to play in front of the loyal fans of his club, Jakmania. He believes Persija will be able to win in the match later.

“I hope to show my abilities in front of them and I’m sure I can win the match against PSM as long as we can show confidence and play together,” said Ryo.
