BRI League 1 Results: Ryo Matsumura’s goal Saves Persija from Defeat against PSM, PSIS Overcomes Bhayangkara FC

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Persija Jakarta failed to get full points after a 1-1 draw against PSM Makassar in the first week of BRI League 1 2023/2024 at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Monday (3/7/2023). PSM took the lead first through Kenzo Nambu, but Persija evened the score through Ryo Matsumura.

In another match, PSIS Semarang managed to beat Bhayangkara FC with a score of 3-1. Bhayangkara FC took the lead through M Ragil’s goal in the 26th minute, but PSIS evened the score through Carlos Fortes who took advantage of Taisei Marukawa’s pass in the 86th minute.

PSIS then brilliantly added two goals in injury time. Paulo Gati and Boubakary Diarry made PSIS Semarang win with two goals in the 90+3 and 90+6 minutes.

The Way of the Persian Match

Persija and PSM appeared to attack each other. Both teams have good squads but failed to produce goals until the 8th minute.

In the 10th minute, Yakob Sayuri faced the goalkeeper one on one. But Andritany grabbed the ball first.

PSM finally completed the opportunity after Kenzo Nambu scored in the 13th minute. He changed the score to 1-0 after his header easily entered Andritany’s goal when he welcomed Ananda Raehan’s free kick.

Persija had several opportunities through Witan Sulaeman in the 19th minute. However, the opportunity was wasted when the ball was easily controlled by Yuran Fernandes.

Likewise in the 23rd minute when Witan Sulaeman received Rio Matsumura’s bait. But the ball rolled faster and failed to be struck by Witan.

Firza Andika had a golden opportunity in the 43rd minute. But his free kick was pushed over by PSM goalkeeper Reza Pratama so that the score remained 1-0 for the visitors. Until the first half ended, PSM’s 1-0 advantage over Persija still remained.
