Qatar was celebrated by 3 World Championships and 7 Explosive Matches

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – One Championship is starting to spread its wings by holding its first event in Qatar next Friday (1/3/2024). The event, entitled One 166: Qatar, will feature three MMA world championships across heavyweight divisions as well as seven explosive matches featuring the world's best strikers and grapplers at the Lusail Sports Arena.

The event culminated with the One Middleweight world championship between Reinier de Ridder and Anatoly Malykhin II. After a spectacular victory in the first meeting at the end of 2022, the Russian giant's eyes were fixed on the third belt held by the Dutch grappler.

However, “The Dutch Knight” will not give up his last belt for free without a fight. He will also return with a more dangerous version of himself to take revenge and give Malykhin his first defeat.

In the main supporting match, Tang Kai as the MMA featherweight ruler will unite the gold belt with Thanh Le's interim belt in the second meeting. This match was held after being postponed for a long time due to an injury suffered by the Chinese striker.

Tang will show again who is better between the two. Meanwhile, Le will be very determined to return to win the gold belt he once held.

At strawweight, Jarred Brooks will meet Joshua Pacio again to fight for the MMA belt. Both of them are very ambitious to resolve the rivalry that has been created, even though the American star has a 1-0 point lead over the Filipino striker.

Apart from that, One 166: Qatar also pampers fighting fans with the best stars in the Middle East region. In the heavyweight division, Iranian superstar Amir Aliakbari will return to take on former World Champion Arjan Bhullar.

The event will also feature Saudi Arabian superstar Zuhayr Al-Qahtani facing veteran striker Mehdi Zatout in a boxing format. Even though he had retired from the sport that made his name, Zatout wanted to try out the “sweet science” which was one of his loves.

Still from the region, ADCC Champion from Yemen, Osamah Almarwai, will also show off his skills against gold belt challenger Cleber Sousa. This match also has the potential to give birth to the next challenger for Mikey Musumeci in the future.

However, the MMA World Championship fight in the atom class and submission grappling in the welterweight class have also been rescheduled for the next One Championship event.
