Tyson Fury Officially Fights Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia, Khabib Nurmagomedov Speaks Up

Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury will officially have a fist fight with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. The two will fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, October 28, 2023.

This fight will be fought according to traditional boxing rules. Fury’s WBC title will not be on the line in this fight.

UFC legend, Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke about the duel. Khabib didn’t give Francis Ngannou many chances to beat Tyson Fury.

“Tyson Fury, he is the best right now. I think Tyson Fury is on a different level in boxing. If they fight in MMA, of course Francis Ngannou has a chance. But in boxing, I don’t see anyone who can touch his face, ” Khabib was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, is a dangerous fighter in his sport. Ngannou (36) has a 17-3 MMA record with 12 wins via knockout.

However, Khabib believes that Ngannou will face great difficulties against Fury. The fighter born in Dagestan, Russia said that there is only one name that is likely to be Fury’s toughest challenge in boxing.

“Maybe Usyk will be the toughest challenge for Tyson Fury,” said Khabib.

Fury himself actually faced Usyk in a unification fight for the world heavyweight title. Oleksandr Usyk (36) is the holder of the world champion in the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO versions, while Fury (34) is the world champion in the WBC version. However, the unification fight that boxing fans have been waiting for failed to materialize, because an agreement could not be reached between the two boxers.

Khabib himself understands why Ngannou took the fight against Fury, who has a boxing record of 33 wins (24 KOs), one draw and no defeat.

“If he can enter the world of boxing, he will earn US $ 50-60 million (around Rp. 748-898 billion), he must do it. Why not? If someone pays you big money, go and take it,” said Khabib.
