SEA Games 2023: U-22 National Team Sweeps Out Victory, Beckham: This is Thanks to the Team’s Hard Work
– The Indonesian U-22 national team completed the group stage for the 2023 SEA Games. Finally, Indonesia defeated Cambodia 2-1 at the Olympic National Stadium, Phnom Penh, Wednesday (10/5/2023).
Two winning goals for Garuda Nusantara were scored by Titan Agung in the 9th minute and Beckham Putra Nugraha in the 51st minute. A clean sweep of wins in the four group matches made Indonesia qualify for the semifinals as Group A winners. One goal for Cambodia was scored by Sin Sovannmakara in the 45th minute.
Beckham Putra Nugraha became one of the best players in the match. Scored one goal and played effectively in the midfield to become the creator of the Garuda Nusantara attack.
“Thank God we were given another victory. Of course we are grateful to qualify for the semifinals with the status of group A winners, this is thanks to the hard work of the entire team. We are also ready to play in the semifinals and whoever the opponent is, we must be ready,” said Beckham after the match.
Beckham said he did not waste the opportunity coach Indra Sjafri who gave him playing minutes.
“Regarding my game, because I have more trust from the coach, I have to prove that in the last match of Group A. Thank God I can prove that and can play freely and enjoy. Especially in Indonesia, they often play with many supporters,” added the player from Persib.
After fighting Cambodia, Indonesia will have a semifinal match against Vietnam or Thailand on Saturday (13/4).
