SEA V League 2023: The Indonesian Volleyball Team Wants to Show Their Best

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Indonesia will host the first round of the 2023 SEA V League. This indoor volleyball tournament will take place at the General Police Volleyball Padepokan, Sentul, Bogor, July 21-23.

Apart from Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand also participated in the SEA V League. “We will field a national team supported by LavAni, as the champion of the 2023 Proliga,” said Chairman of PP PBVSI Komjen Pol. (P) Drs. Imam Sudjarwo, M. Si, in a press conference in Jakarta, Monday (17/7).

A total of 18 players have been called up for this tournament. Later, that number will be trimmed to 14 players.

“The core team won’t be far away when the national team competed in Taiwan yesterday. However, return that this time there may be someone who can’t appear, Rivan (Nurmulki), we include Dimas (Saputra), and we take back setters Jasen and Rehan,” said assistant coach of the Indonesian volleyball national team for the SEA V League Samsul Jais.

“We are also adding more strength that we will include Sandy Akbar. So, we will select from these 18 players, whoever has the best performance will be played later.”

Of the 18 players, nine of them just joined on Tuesday (18/7). Because, they strengthened the Indonesian men’s volleyball national team at the 2023 AVC Challenge in Taiwan last week.

They include Irpan, Farhan Halim, Cep Indra Agustin, Hendra Kurniawan, Boy Arnes Arabi, Fahri Septian Putratama, M Malizi, Dio Zulfikri, and Doni Haryono. Nevertheless, Samsul is not worried because these players have often played together.

“In terms of game work, we are not too worried. But physically it is possible. So the remaining time is used by how we maintain their condition, so that from the 21st to the 23rd we will perform at our best,” said Samsul.
