sell iPhones without a charger in Brazil –
Apple is no longer allowed to sell iPhones without a charger in Brazil. The Brazilian government states that the tech giant thus delivers an incomplete product.
The South American country states that all purchases of the iPhone 12 and newer models should be dissolved. Apple was also fined around 2.4 million euros.
With the introduction of the iPhone 12, Apple stopped supplying an adapter two years ago. According to Apple, many people already have a charger, which makes it better for the environment to no longer put an adapter in the box.

The Brazilian authorities reject that argument. They argue that there is no evidence that supplying a phone charger is worse for the environment.
In a response, Apple once again emphasizes the environmental benefits. “Power adapters were good for our biggest use of plastic and zinc. By no longer supplying them as standard, we have saved more than 2 million tons of CO2. That is equivalent to the emissions of 500,000 cars in a year.”
The American tech company says it wants to work with the Brazilian authorities “to address their objections”. Apple will also prepare an appeal.
