Sentul Volleyball Padepokan Holds SEA V League

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Padepokan Volleyball General Kunarto, Sentul, Bogor, is holding the first edition of the South East Asia Volleyball League or SEA V League competition, 21-23 July 2023.

The SEA V League or ASEAN volleyball competition was attended by four countries, namely the hosts Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand.

The SEA V League was previously named the ASEAN Grand Prix which has been held twice, but only for the women’s category. In 2019, the women’s national team took part in the event, while on the second occasion, the BJB Tandamata team was a participant.

PBVSI Central Board Chairman, Imam Sudjarwo, explained, Indonesia will be represented by the Jakarta Lavani team and several men’s national team players who won gold medals at the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games.

Indonesia’s top player, Hendra Kurniawan, said he was ready to return to international tournaments, after competing in the AVC Challenge Cup last week.

“The target is 1st place, because this is Southeast Asia,” said Hendra.

Meanwhile, for the women’s category, Indonesia will also participate in similar activities. They will take part in the first week which takes place in Vietnam on August 4-6, and then in Thailand on August 11-13.

This year, the SEA V League presented two events at the same time for the men’s and women’s categories. The name of this league was changed from ASEAN Grand Prix to SEA V League, which is the Southeast Asian Volleyball League.

The SEA V League stage will take place at the Volleyball Padepokan because Indonesia wants to introduce the facilities it has there to other countries.
