Manchester United’s Rival Offer Rejected, Marcus Rahsford Extends Contract

Currently, Rahsford’s contract at Old Trafford only has one year left. The England international is claimed to have been approached by a number of MU’s rival teams in the Premier League.

Apart from that, Paris Saint-Germain have been the most heavily linked with a move for Rashford, especially considering the possible loss of star player Kylian Mbappe.

However, Rahsford confirmed his loyalty by rejecting the offer. And now, a new agreement with the Red Devils will soon be ratified.

According to Athletic, in the contract extension, Rashford will also get a significant salary increase of £ 200 thousand per week.

Rahsford is a player who graduated from the MU academy. He made his debut in 2016 aged 18.

Even though MU managers alternated, Rashford’s position as a MU striker was irreplaceable. Last season, Rashford became one of the important players for MU under Erik ten Hag.

The England international scored 30 goals in 56 appearances in all competitions. He is one of the vital players in MU’s success in qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Previously, Rashford was expected to extend the contract. In fact, it emerged from the manager Erik Ten Hag.

“I hope Marcus Rashford extends the contract. He wants it. Manchester United wants it. He is a player of this club, so I assume this will happen,” Ten Hag said last May.

Ten Hag also did not hesitate to give praise to Rashford. He is happy, finally MU has a striker who can score a lot of goals.

“I’m happy that finally Manchester United players can score another 30 goals. But next year the figure must be higher,” said Ten Hag.
