Shh…Bima Sakti Finds Talented Players at GIC 2023 for the U-17 National Team, Who Is It?

– Bima Sakti, coach of the U-17 National Team (Timnas), managed to find a number of potential players who will strengthen the national team at the 2023 U-17 World Cup after monitoring the Garuda International Cup (GIC) 3 which was held at the ASIOP Training Ground, Sentul, West Java , Thursday to Sunday (6-9 July 2023).

“We are giving all Indonesian players a chance. Here (GIC), I see a number of players that we might call up for the U-17 national team,” said Bima, Sunday (9/7/2023).

Even so, Bima did not mention the names of the players or the number of players that came to his attention.

“We cannot disclose it at this time. We will hold a training camp and there will be a process of promotion and relegation. Selection will be carried out again, and this GIC competition will provide an opportunity for them,” added Bima.

GIC 3 match series 2023 has been completed. The ASIOP team managed to win in the 17 year old age group.

The closing of the Garuda International Cup 3 U-17 World Cup tournament was lively. Apart from Bima Sakti, the GIC 3 Advisory Committee, Benny Sutrisno, the GIC 3 Steering Committee, and sponsor representatives were also present.

The competition in this edition was getting tighter because there were 32 contestants from seven countries, namely Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam.

In the 12 year old age group, the Cup category was won by Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) from Malaysia after beating ASIOP Merah 1-0 in the final match on Sunday (9 July). Meanwhile, the third position was occupied by NFDP, and fourth place was won by ASIOP Biru.

Furthermore, in the 12 year old age group, the Plate category, Bali Next Generation won, followed by Nahusam FA as runner-upDY FC Batam in third place, and Best FC Malaysia in fourth place.

In the 17 year old age group, the Cup category was won by ASIOP Merah after defeating Merden Education and Training in the final. Meanwhile, Heijnes Papua took third place, and Ricky Nelson Academy won fourth place.

Meanwhile, in the 17 year old age group, in the Plate category, Safin Pati won, followed by Woodlands Warriors from Singapore as the winner. runner-upCentral Visayas from the Philippines in third place, and FC Katipunan from the Philippines in fourth place.

“Of course, without the support of the sponsors, we will find it difficult to organize an international tournament of this magnitude. We hope that the sponsors will continue to support GIC in the coming years because we plan to hold a bigger tournament next year. All this is done to support the advancement of football Indonesia,” Wahyu added.
