Smuggling Into the Stadium, Arema Supporters Beaten by Persik Supporters

The match between Persik Kediri vs Arema FC in the continuation of the BRI League 1 was held at the Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri City, Saturday (15/7/2023) afternoon, filled with chaos. Dozens of Arema FC supporters who were caught smuggling into the Brawijaya Stadium and sat in the stands, were attacked by Persik Kediri supporters.

This incident did not only occur in the north stand, but also in the south stand, where dozens of Arema FC fans also became victims of beatings by Persik supporters.

Luckily, security officers immediately secured the Arema FC supporters and immediately took them outside the stadium.

The Head of the Kediri City Police, AKBP Teddy Chandra, stated that his party and staff had actually carried out inspections at the borders of Kediri City. However, these fans entered separately and without bringing any attributes, so it is difficult to predict. In this incident, the police managed to secure 25 Arema FC supporters and then sent them home.

“They were not identified when they were outside the stadium because they did not use any attributes. However, after they were inside the stadium and the Arema FC club scored a goal, they cheered. This reaction triggered the emotions of the Persik Kediri supporters and led to beatings. In total there were 25 Arema FC supporters who we secured it and immediately sent it home,” said AKBP Teddy Chandra, Kadiri City Police Chief.

Long before the match was held, there was already an agreement between Persik Kediri and Arema FC, that no supporters from Arema FC would come to the Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri City. This is because the history of the two fans is less harmonious.

In that match, the club nicknamed the White Tiger, Persik Kediri, managed to win 5-2 over their guest, the club nicknamed Singo Edan, Arema FC.

Persik Kediri’s goals were scored by Symen Lyngbo, Renan Silva, Jafersoon Vera, Batu Otto and Flavio Silda. While Arema FC managed to reply with two goals scored by Gustavo.
