The Battle for the Third Place in the Women’s U-19 AFF Cup: The Women’s U-19 National Team Has the Ambitious Defeat of Myanmar

– Failed to reach the final round, the Indonesian women’s U-19 national team still has hope when they face Myanmar in the race for third place for the 2023 Women’s AFF U-19 Cup in Palembang.

The fight for third place between Indonesia and Myanmar will be played on Saturday (15/7/2023) afternoon at 15.30 WIB at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium Jakabaring Palembang.

Rudy Eka Priyambada’s squad was previously defeated by Thailand with a landslide score of 1-7 in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Mynamkar lost 1-2 to Vietnam.

Even though they failed to make it to the final, Coach Rudy Eka emphasized that his players still have the enthusiasm to be able to finish the AFF U-19 Cup with the best achievements.

“Of course the enthusiasm is still there, but we still want to fight Myanmar again. I hope we are still trying to finish third,” Rudy Eka was quoted as saying on the official PSSI website, Saturday (15/7/2023).

Regarding Myanmar’s strength, Rudy Eka assessed that his opponent was as good as Vietnam or Thailand. “Myanmar is as good as Vietnam, we also have to be vigilant when playing normally,” he said.

Rudy hopes that his team can learn from the mistakes they made when they were defeated by Thailand. He asked his players to make quick decisions, that’s the most important thing in football.

Although admittedly constrained by limited players, Rudy is optimistic that the Garuda Muda Pertiwi squad can achieve the best results in the U-19 AFF Cup.

“We remain optimistic, looking ahead, thinking positively, hoping the children recover quickly. We are ready to play in the race for third place,” he concluded.
