The Indonesian Team Practices for the First Time at the Sudirman Cup Arena

The Indonesian team underwent their first training in the 2023 Sudirman Cup arena at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Center, Suzhou, China, Friday (12/5/2023).

Even though it was relatively short, the first practice that was carried out by members of the Indonesian badminton team for the 2023 Sudirman Cup was so important.

All players, 11 boys and 9 girls accompanied by coaches, practiced for 150 minutes. In the end, each sector only got 30 minutes of practice. Even though it was short, all the players were so enthusiastic and enthusiastic.

“Even though the duration is short, this exercise is still useful. Players can adapt to the competition arena. This exercise can also restore players’ condition,” said Irwansyah, the men’s singles coach.

According to team manager Armand Darmadji, the first practice with this arena is useful for adaptation to field conditions, wind direction and lights. Apart from that, it is also to restore the feeling of hitting after yesterday the players had a long journey from Jakarta to Suzhou.

“The condition of all the players is also good. Today we also gave them a longer rest after arriving at the hotel early in the morning. Therefore, the training hours, which were originally planned to take place in the morning, we will shift to the afternoon,” said Armand.

This first practice is more used to adapt to the stadium that will be the venue for the match. Players practice more light games in a fun atmosphere.

The men’s doubles sector practiced the 3-on-3 game. Fajar Alfian, Kevin Sanjaya and Daniel Marthin practiced against Rian Ardianto, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Leo Rolly Carnando. Coach Herry Iman Pierngadi oversees this exercise. After that, continue the two-on-two training program with the original partner.
