The story of Regian Eersel, record holder who has never lost for 8 years

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Regian Eersel's eight-year unbeaten streak ended at the hands of Alexis Nicolas. The two athletes fought for the One Lightweight Kickboxing world championship belt in the top match of One Fight Night 21.

Alexis Nicolas, the kickboxer from France surprised the One Championship fans who filled the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in a classic match that lasted five rounds.

As promised, the fighter nicknamed Barboza was not afraid to get involved in the attack from the start to the end of the fight. The decisive moment for his victory occurred in the second round.

After trying to weaken the defending champion with a series of kicks, Alexis Nicolas saw a gap in his opponent's defense. He was then able to land a hard right punch which made Eersel fall.
The Surinamese fighter was able to get back up and almost took the lead. However, it wasn't enough to land a crushing blow to convince the judges that he deserved to continue holding the title.

Eersel last lost in March 2016. Now, his eight-year unbeaten streak is over.

However, as of Monday (15/4/2024), the fighter nicknamed The Immortal still holds the One Lightweight Muay Thai world champion belt.

In another belt-hunting match, Tye Ruotolo managed to defend the One Welterweight Submission Grappling world championship belt after forcing Izaak Michell to surrender with an innovative neck lock at 4:43 minutes.

The new locking technique was later named Ruotolotine. This technique is a combination of their names and the Guillotine. This lock is similar to the rear-naked choke technique, but slightly modified because the opponent's hands are also locked.
