The team from Indonesia won third place in the 2023 Youth Soccer World Cup

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Squad Tays Bakers Barati, the 12 and 13 year old group, successfully won the championship podium at the World Youth Gothia Cup in Sweden. The two Indonesian representatives managed to rank third among 194 teams from 27 countries.

Proud CEO of Merah Putih Going Global, Krisna Marsis expressed pride for the struggle of the 28 players who came from a combination of 18 SSB and 10 provinces in Indonesia.

“I am touched and proud of the achievements made by the children in this prestigious event, especially amidst the weather conditions and the format of the competition which was not very friendly for the players. The weather in Sweden during the tournament was cold, windy, below 14 degrees,” he said when confirmed by reporters on Monday (24/7/2023).

The two Indonesian teams managed to win the group in the preliminary round and advance to the round knock out met strong opponents like Italy, Mexico, and Spain. In total, the two Indonesian teams played 8 times each. The U-12 team was able to score 50 goals and conceded 13 goals, while the U-13 team managed to score 41 goals and conceded 8 goals.

The U-13 team’s steps stopped in the semifinals after being defeated by Ordin FC team from Brazil 0-5. Meanwhile, the U-12 Team narrowly lost 2-3 to Mexican team Barca CFIS who also won the final.

The support we provide in the selection and development program for young footballers is a form of Tays Bakers’ commitment to open up opportunities for the young generation to excel abroad,” said Tays Bakers CEO Alexander Anwar.

Squad Tays Bakers Barati consists of 28 players aged 12 and 13 years as a result of selection for the 2023 Barati Cup Bali tournament which was attended by more than 1,000 players from 13 provinces in Indonesia.

Sending a youth soccer team to the 2023 Gothia Cup is part of the Proud Red and White Global program, which is an incubation program for young Indonesian football talents with a spirit of nationalism.
