Tourists and MSMEs are happy to have F1 Powerboat in Toba

Toba, Beritasatu.com – Tourists and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are happy with the 2024 Lake Toba Powerboat F1 at Mulia Raja Napitupulu Harbor, Balige, Toba Regency, North Sumatra.

A tourist from DKI Jakarta, Aryo Prakasa, said he was happy with the holding of this international event and hoped it would be even more lively next year.

“I'm happy because I can enjoy the Solu Bolon rowing boat competition, there is also jet skiing, national band entertainment and others,” said Aryo after watching F1 Powerboat Lake Toba, Sunday (3/3/2024).

He has been at the location since Friday (1/3/2024) and plans to return home on Monday (4/3/2024) via Sisingamangaraja XII/Silangit Airport in North Tapanuli Regency which is closer to the activity location.

An MSME player who sells food and soft drinks outside the main competition location, Radison Sinaga, said that his sales had increased drastically over the last two days.

“I usually make a profit of IDR 100,000 per day from sales, but during this competition (F1 Powerboat), my income reached IDR 250,000 per day,” he said.

Sinaga hopes that the government can hold more large-scale events like this in one year so that they have a direct impact on people from lower economic classes like himself.

InJourney's Director of Marketing and Tourism Programs, Maya Watono, said that last year, the economic impact of holding this international event reached IDR 1.6 trillion. This year, it is hoped that the impact can increase by at least 10-20 percent.

He is optimistic because he has seen firsthand the increase in the number of passengers at Sisingamangaraja XII/Silangit International Airport in the last few days.

Apart from that, the involvement of MSME players who are concentrated around the main location of the competition means that tourists have many choices of activities during the water jet competition.

He invited all parties, especially the public, to help promote this automotive event so that domestic and foreign tourists will increasingly be interested in vacationing at the largest volcanic lake in the world.
