2023 Asia Junior Badminton Championships: Indonesia is Ready to Face Vietnam

– The Indonesian Junior Badminton Team met Vietnam in the opening match of the mixed team event for the 2023 Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC). Hall, Yogyakarta, Saturday morning (8/7).

Alwi Farhan et al were prepared with four hours of training at the Waroeng Badminton Academy GOR, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta on Friday (7/7/2023) at 09.00.

Indonesian team manager Alwi announced that he and his team-mates are ready to appear in the opening match. Alwi is equally hungry for victory and is optimistic that his colleagues can perform optimally and lead Indonesia to victory.

“We want to do our best. So far our team is in good condition and of course I am ready to give points to Indonesia,” said the men’s singles player who was born on May 12 2005.

Alwi admits that he is now adapting to the atmosphere of the Amonggraga Sports Hall in Jogjakarta, where the AJC 2023 is being held. Due to the windy field conditions, the world number 96 tennis player from Surakarta is slowly getting used to the arena. “First I got used to the windy conditions in the arena. After several tries, I got used to it,” said Alwi.

“Regarding tomorrow’s match, I want to focus on myself first. I also don’t want to think too much about the opponent I will face next,” added the 2021 Bangladesh Junior International Series champion.

In the same vein, badminton doubles players Anisanaya Kamila/Az Zahra Ditya Ramadhan have the same determination to win their first match. Although the early matches are not always easy, both of them will initially focus on scoring points for Indonesia.

“For the final preparations we just have to stay focused. We are ready to try and give points. We will strengthen each other to bring Indonesia to win the AJC 2023,” said Naya, Anisanaya’s nickname.

Women’s doubles coach Enroe Suryanto admitted that he was mentally ready to compete for the sake of his children. According to Enroe, this is important considering that women’s doubles ranks last after mixed doubles, men’s singles, women’s singles and men’s doubles.

“Now I just have to focus on strengthening the mentality of the players for the competition, because the women’s doubles sector can determine a team’s victory,” said Enroe.

From a technical and physical point of view, the players are not much different from the others. “I also try to make them mentally stronger,” concluded Enroe.
