BRI Liga 1 results: Gustavo’s hat-trick thwarts Persib Bandung’s victory over Arema FC

Liputan6.com, Jakarta- Persib Bandung failed to win away at home to Arema FC in the BRI League 1 2023/2024 continuation. In the match at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali, Maung Bandung was forced to draw 3-3 by Arema thanks to Gustavo’s hat-trick, Friday (7/7/2023) evening WIB.

Acting as the host, Arema immediately pressed from the start. The game had only been running for six minutes, Singo Edan was able to open the scoring through Gustavo’s first goal. This Arema foreign player took advantage of Putu Gede’s imperfect mistake in blocking a cross.

Persib only needed four minutes to equalize the score. Striker Ciro Alves fired a low shot which goalkeeper Teguh Amiruddin couldn’t stop. The scoreboard was 1-1.

Entering the 14th minute, disaster struck Persib after Alberto Rodriguez made a mistake by dropping Gustavo in the penalty box and the referee pointed to the spot. Arema FC also received a penalty. Gustavo, who executed the penalty himself, managed to beat Teja Paku Alam. Arema again won 2-1 over Persib.

Persib immediately attacked Arema after falling behind again. Luis Milla’s troop’s efforts paid off in the 38th minute. David da Silva well finished a bait from Beckham Putra with a low kick. The first half ended with the score being equal 2-2.
