AHY and Cak Imin Can’t Be Legislators, Confident to Participate in the 2024 Presidential Election?

– PKB chairman, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin and Democratic Party general chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) did not register as candidates for the 2024 election. Both are still optimistic about participating in the 2024 presidential election.

Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid stated, Cak Imin had repeatedly been on the successful team to win presidential candidates. For this reason, he said, it was time for Cak Imin to run for the 2024 presidential election.

“For Cak Imin, election contestation, both legislative and presidential elections, is not something new for him, moreover, he has repeatedly participated in the campaign team to win this candidate, that candidate. Therefore, for this presidential election, it is time for him to test and fulfill the expectations of a number of cadres, leaders and kiai so that Gus Muhaimin will advance or be included in the ballot paper,” said Jazilul Fawaid when talking with presenter Fristian Griec in the Evening Chat program with the theme “Cak Imin-AHY Not Nyaleg for Nyapres?” that aired BTVTuesday (9/5/2023).

It is said, the 2024 presidential election will not be followed by incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) because he has served two terms. For this reason, he said, the 2024 Presidential Election will be an event to find a new national leader who can move Indonesia forward.

“Of the nine parties in parliament, not all of their party leaders have the courage to run in the presidential election contest. This has prompted Gus Muhaimin and PKB to venture forward as presidential or vice-presidential candidates in the 2024 election,” he said.

Jazilul added that Cak Imin has the opportunity to advance in the 2024 presidential election because PKB is currently still with the Gerindra Party in the Great Indonesia Awakening Coalition. Through this coalition, Cak Imin will run as vice presidential candidate to accompany Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto.

“Gus Imin has a big chance of becoming Pak Prabowo’s vice presidential candidate, especially since PKB is also a major party that is among the top five parties with the most votes in the 2019 Pileg. Cak Imin is a strong axis capable of boosting Pak Prabowo’s vote in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election, and we are sure of that.” ” he said.
