Apple Announces That WWDC 2024 Will Be Held June 10-14 at Apple Park

Apple has reportedly chosen the Chinese search engine giant, Baidu, as a partner for generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology for the iPhone 16 and other products.

This information was revealed by reports from a number of media in China. Quoting the South China Morning Post, Tuesday (26/3/2024), Apple will use Baidu's AI called Ernie Bot.

The plan is that Ernie Bot will be installed directly on the iPhone 16, Mac OS and iOS 18 for the Chinese market. Apart from Baidu, Apple is also said to have lobbied other large technology companies, such as Alibaba Group Holding.

Previously, it was reported that Apple was exploring the possibility of collaborating to install the Gemini (Google) and ChatGPT (OpenAI) generative AI models on their devices.

However, because Google and OpenAI's AI models are not officially available in China, Apple must look for corporate partners in China if they want to release their new AI-powered products in the Bamboo Curtain country.
