XL Axiata Inaugurates Gorontalo-Palu Fiber Optic Network 1,150 Km Long

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – XL Axiata inaugurated the operation of the Gorontalo-Palu fiber optic backbone network. The existence of this 1,150 km long backbone network is to serve the surge in cellular service traffic throughout Sulawesi and support home internet services.

XL Axiata built this fiber optic network in collaboration with PT Alita Praya Mitra. The backbone infrastructure is located in Isimu Raya Village, Tibawa District, Gorontalo.

For your information, the backbone network connects two provinces in Sulawesi and has been built since 2023.

This network provides protection to meet capacity needs and improve the reliability of the XL Axiatadi Sulawesi network.

Director and Chief Technology Officer of XL Axiata I Gede Darmayusa said that the existence of equal internet access is very important to support the internet access inclusion program.

“It is very urgent to provide infrastructure that supports digital services in remote areas so that the quality of service to the community is maximized,” said Gede, quoted from XL Axiata's official statement.

Gede said that XL Axiata is committed to providing the best service for its customers. One of them is the operation of a cross-provincial backbone network spanning 1,150 km from Gorontalo Regency to Palu in Central Sulawesi.
