Becoming a Robbery Victim, Gianluigi Donnarumma Still Joins PSG Pre-season to Japan

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Gianluigi Donnarumma is reportedly still leaving for Japan to take part in Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) pre-season tour. He had just been the victim of a robbery.

“It is reported that Donnarumma is staying with Japan on PSG’s pre-season tour,” wrote Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

PSG will meet Al Nassr (July 25), Cerezo Osaka (July 28), and finally Inter Milan (August 1) in the Land of the Rising Sun. Luis Enrique’s troops also served Le Havre in the first pre-season trial, Friday (21/7/2023) evening WIB.

However, Gianluigi Donnarumma’s participation in the party is in question because of the traumatic event he has just experienced.

He was the victim of a robbery in the French capital. Donnarumma and his lover were visited by robbers at their residence, Friday (21/7/2023) in the morning local time. L’Equipe reported that they were tied up and held at gunpoint, with the thieves taking away valuables worth 500 thousand euros or around Rp.8 billion.

Luckily the 24-year-old goalkeeper was able to escape to a nearby hotel. There they contacted the authorities who are still hunting for the perpetrators. Donnarumma and his girlfriend were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Cases of violence that befell footballers in Paris have occurred frequently. In 2021, Angel Di Maria, who was defending PSG at that time, also experienced a robbery case at his home which is located in Paris.

Apart from the two names above, players who are under the auspices of PSG such as Marquinhos, Mauro Icardi, Thiago Silva and Sergio Rico have also experienced similar incidents.
